Old Norse

If the sourced word is from a runic inscription it is not a proto language, so it should be just "Norse". It also seems unlikely that "harabanaz" was the common Norse word, since reconstruction would get us "hrabnaʀ" (approx. /xraβnaʐ/); the extra vowels are very hard to explain and might be dialectal variation. It seems more appropriate to add the inscription as a "compare" and just skip the Proto-Norse step, as has been done with most Old Norse words for which there exists no relating inscription in Proto-Norse. Since Proto-Norse and Proto-Germanic are highly similar (in the reconstructed forms we use), this seems be less confusing. --Bajuwarijaz (talk) 14:23, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
