What is the differnt between the label (collective) and the word jewels ? --Backinstadiums (talk) 20:50, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- A collective noun is grammatically singular but refers to a collection of multiple entities. "jewels" is just a regular plural form of "jewel".
- I think, however, that "jewellery" fits more closely into the category of mass nouns rather than collective nouns.
- For example, "water" is a mass noun, and you say "I'd like some water". You would similarly say "some jewellery".
- "Group" is a collective noun and you can pluralize it to refer to multiple "groups". That does not happen often with *"jewelleries". 70.172.194.25 20:52, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- However, you can indeed find many exammples of pluralized water, that is waters as different kinds/types of water Backinstadiums (talk) 22:21, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
