Talk:judía

Regarding Etymology 2, where "judía" means "bean" in Spain, another possibility is that it is derived from Arabic "yudiya" meaning "bean", but I can't find the source of that info. Neither do I know any Arabic.
Can anyone confirm yudiya?
Yudiyaa has nothing to do with beans. This is anti-semitic propaganda spread by Pearson Publications to explain their incorrect and offensive use of a medieval Spanish term. "Green Jews" in the middle ages were served with "Moros & Cristianos", which were black beans and rice. Judias verdes is offensive to those of us of the Jewish faith. Please use habichuealas or frijoles verdes. Thank you.[edit]
