Comparative

I think később is an adverb, so cannot be the comparative of késő which is an adjective. Qorilla 23:12, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

Please see this page: Nyelvtudományi Intézet Alaktani táblázatok. Yes, később is an adverb, but the comparative of Hungarian adjectives is -bb. So I'm not sure how to explain the -bbi. In the "Értelmező szótár" by Eőry Vilma: később (adverb) "a késik ige késő származékának megszilárdult ragos alakulata". How about this: late - késői, later - későbbi, latest - legkésőbbi? --Panda10 00:42, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

I guess késő only has comparative when literally used as késik + -ő. But that's rare. Én később vagyok mint te, pedig te is sokat késel. Kind of unusual. In the sense Késő este van., késő means something ultimate, and there is no Később este van.
