Romanian "lilie" cannot be a descendant of Latin "lilium"
[edit]There is no way for Romanian lilie to be a descendant of Latin lilium. That's just not how the sound changes from Latin to Romanian work. Anyway, Romanian dictionaries indicate that the (regional and most unusual) word lilie is borrowed from German Lilie. (The usual Romanian word for lily is crin.)
