this word is also used figuratively to mean a list of negative items, usually repeated. such as, "a litany of complaints". —This unsigned comment was added by 24.195.235.165 (talk) at 05:43, 29 January 2006 (UTC).

Is this only used for negative words, or can it be used as a synonym of abundance in all cases? Can someone please give a reference describing this aspect of the word and add it to the article? --Yuu.david 04:35, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
