is this a real word?

[edit]

(Notifying Mahagaja, RichardW57): Something seems weird about this word (and its claimed synonyms catyrfa, mwnt, rhiallu), along with myrdd. Note also that miliwn has claimed synonyms buna, catyra fawr and mynta, which need verification as well. Benwing2 (talk) 05:17, 2 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Benwing2: It has one of the oldest attestations of Welsh words, going back to Y Gododdin. A Welsh dictionary online gives a slew of quotations. The ordering of the components makes it feel like a nonce word, but its use in Y Gododdin has probably kept it alive. It refers to a clash of 100,000 men and 300 men. --RichardW57 (talk) 19:09, 2 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
