Talk:miracle minority

Potential attestability as a term for Asian Americans

This phrase appears uncommonly in the context of Asian Americans and stereotypes of intelligence, but I am not sure whether or not it has lexicalized or if there are enough uses findable to meet attestation requirements. Here is what I've been able to find:

• 1988: Many of these [refugees from the Indochinese region] and their children have achieved remarkable success in work and school since arriving here, earning the label of the "miracle minority."
• 1991: And in turn, American-born Americans often accept the sterotyped Asian whiz kids, the miracle minority, as the typical Asian-American.
• 2016: For example, 79 percent of Koreans and 76 percent of Japanese eighth graders scored proficient on the California Algebra I test compared to 39 percent of whites and 35 percent of Laotians and Cambodians in 2010. These results confirm one important finding in a 2008 report from C.A.R.E. and the College Board: Asians are not a monolith “miracle minority” group.
• 2021: When we make education a civil right, we elevate Black and brown, often at the expense of Native American and often leaving whites and Asians out of the equation, as much as we'd like to think that Asian students are a miracle minority.
• 2023: Because...there is a really strong pull for "making 'Murica (and the rest of the so-called "Western"/WHYTE world) great again" by taking leaps and bounds backwards to a time where we were marginalized to the MAX (and that includes Asians of ALL Asia...them "miracle minority" and wight passing "ethnic" folk finna get their feelings hurt when their muling reaches completion and they are no longer needed by the powers that hate them as much as skinfolk).
