Etymology 1 versus Etymology 2

The key differences are that (1) in Etymology 1 "the moon/moonlight bathes (v.t.) things (d.o.)" whereas in Etymology 2 "I bathe [myself] (v.i. or v.r.) with the moon/moonlight", and (2) the first predates the second. Same with Talk:sunbathed. Quercus solaris (talk) 06:58, 7 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
