Copied verbatim from somewhere? Hard to understand, I think it's saying mommen is from Old French momen, and mummenschantze is from momen and chance. Can't find momen (have tried mumen, muman and moman also) and chance doesn't seem to mean exact this; two different sources list it as meaning 'the result of the throw of a die' which seems to fit nicely with the meaning. Do we need to mark momen as unattested? If so, are we reconstructing its meaning purely on this or is it used elsewhere? Renard Migrant (talk) 22:09, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
