Is this the simplest way to explain a word like 'nanotechnology'?

I am sure, that 35 years ago, I wouldn't have understood it. I understand it now. But I gather, 'Wiktionary' was not written just for me. Or just for smart people, who can understand. Smart people don't need to look up these words. Simpleminded people do. But will they understand the explanation?

• We have to assume that our users have a reasonable command of English, and at least some knowledge of the field in which a word is used. There is a Simple English version of Wiktionary, but they haven't got a definition of simple:nanotechnology yet. SemperBlotto 10:20, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
