Can we confirm which meaning of "snipe" is intended for the etymology?
[edit]Of course, the original XKCD comic seems to imply it is the verb "snipe" as in to shoot with a rifle, however it could also be "snipe" as in to send someone on a wild goose chase for a nonexistent thing; in this case, the answer of the difficult or interesting problem presented to them. I personally think the first meaning makes more sense but I would like others' opinions. GiggyMantis (talk) 01:27, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
