I think it should mention that this is still only English! People shouldn't start adding Dutch explanations and stuff like that. I'll add a little warning... that can be removed once nl.wiktionary.org is up and running. Guaka 14:08, 9 Feb 2004 (UTC)

This is probably a discussion we should have once nl.wiktionary.org has started, but I think Onthaalpagina is the proper translation for Main page. Hoofdpagina is too literal a translation. So I changed it back. In French it is called acceuil, which to me makes a lot more sense. Even though it would be better if it were page d'acceuil. But that is a discussion for fr.wiktionary.org, of course. Polyglot 07:59, 15 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Guaka 23:11, 16 Apr 2004 (UTC)
Hi Guaka,
Onthaalpagina sounds better to me. Probably the influence of all those Belgian web sites... When I translated the main page for the first time, I came up with onthaalpagina, without knowing what the French were going to come up with. It might surprise you that we would never have thought of using wanneer-zelf instead of toch.
If it has to be Hoofdpagina, I'll rest my case. Polyglot 11:43, 18 Apr 2004 (UTC)

An attempt to translate

I commented it out. I'm pretty sure it's been done already for the largest part; all strings have been translated for the Netherlandic Wikipedia. And translation efforts are normally started on the Meta Wikipedia [6]. See Locales for the Wikipedia Software. I think you can try copying the Wikipedia NL php page into a Wiktionary NL page and then compare it to the Polish version (which is the only one I see there at the moment, which is weird... since there are also English and French versions). Never heard of Netherlandic before. Thanks for telling me about meta.wikipedia.org. I was wondering about that. Polyglot 11:43, 18 Apr 2004 (UTC)
Something is written about Netherlandic here, but in high school I was told it was the "official" term, since Dutch denotes all the Netherlandic dialects spoken in .nl and Flemish all the Netherlandic dialects spoken in .be.
BTW, nagging on some mailinglists might help to get a nl.wiktionary.org :) Guaka 16:51, 18 Apr 2004 (UTC)
