Definition[edit]

The old definition here seems to be a copied from the entry noun with the insertion of "multiple". Obviously, the definition doesn't fit here as plural nouns are not a "basic parts of speech". As for a proper definition, there could be two ways of defining "plural noun":

  1. a noun that refers to multiple persons or things; in this sense e.g. "boys" and "people" are plural nouns
  2. a noun that is in the plural; in this sense e.g. "boys" is a plural noun, while "people" is not

However, the definitions in the first google results are vague. -Doug9 (talk) 02:50, 22 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
