Wrong etymology : not from Ottoman Turkish but ancient Latin panis focacius, (in Italy today focaccia) and μπουγατσα from Constantinople much before Turks conquered Balkan.

Originally it's from medieval Latin focacea, but eventually spread throughout the Balkans, and borrowed into Serbo-Croatian from an unknown source (Hungarian, German, or could be even Ottoman Turkish). --Ivan Štambuk 16:11, 5 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
