I assume, that persecution is related to prosecution, but neither of them shows that link, but actually prosecution at least has a section on etymologie.

• Distantly related I suppose. They're from separate Latin verbs – (deprecated template usage) prōsequī and (deprecated template usage) persequī – but, yes, both of those are ultimately from (deprecated template usage) sequī. Ƿidsiþ 08:32, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
