http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Association_of_Realtors indicates that the NAR was not renamed to the NAR until 1974, but that they trademarked the term 'Realtor' in 1949. It seem unlikely that the term would have been coined to refer to a member of that group before that group was renamed OR before the term was adopted by them.
