http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_plurals#Plurals_of_compound_nouns reads in part, "A compound that has one head, with which it begins, usually pluralizes its head." To me, "shout" is the head of the compound, and "out" is a modifier. Therefore, the plural should be "shouts-out" instead of "shout-outs." Arthur Smart 09:09, 13 September 2011 (UTC)

Come to think of it, "shout out" is the preferred form. The hyphenated version is an alternate. --Arthur Smart 09:16, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
