Rhyme[edit]

Per this page, the word is pronounced /spəˈrændʒ/, /ˈspəʊrˌændʒ/, or /ˈspoʊrˌændʒ/, not /spɒrɪndʒ/ (with any stress pattern). Why, then, is it liked to Rhymes:English:-ɒrɪndʒ? Cnilep 03:17, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I see why it is linked. That page mentions that a common (mis)pronunciation of sporange rhymes. I've undone my edit removing the link. Cnilep 03:50, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Rarely used[edit]

This term does not appear in the English dictionaries or technical works that I've checked, except for a 1901 thesis title that shows up in a google search here. I have heard it said as a near-nonsense word, and as a French borrowing. Is there some way that the English form can be marked as rare? Nadiatalent 19:33, 14 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
