- Some present participles do graduate into full-fledged adjective status. But I did a quick search at online-literature.com, and didn't find any convincing support that this one has. I'm leaning toward delete. -- · (talk) 23:21, 9 January 2018 (UTC)

Stooping (obs. )=> Swooping?[edit]
Consider Pope's line here:
Say, will the falcon, stooping from above,
Smit with her varying plumage, spare the dove?
Most of the old texts have it as stooping, and not, as we now know the word: swooping. Is this an alternative obsolete meaning for the word, or just a misprint?--Lmstearn (talk) 12:08, 21 August 2018 (UTC)
