I wouldn't necessarily have dropped the "dated" tag. I wouldn't be surprised if the form is still in use somewhere, but all the references I could find are either in the context of older literature or in what look to be RPG and similarly fantastic (and deliberately anachronistic) environments. Also, were you able to pin down the date of the Dickens quote? If not, we might want to mark it as 1850(?) or Mid 1800s or such.
