I am helping my 86 year old mother convalesce as she broke her arm playing ping pong. She fell, reaching for a ball as it bounced on the floor. I googled the word convalesce. It says it comes from the word valere and the word com. When conjugating the word valere, I see valgo. Valere means worth in Italian (if I am following this right). Valgo sounds like it means I am worth. In the definition of convalesce, valesce means strong. Com is like con (Spanish for with). So, I put this all together and come up with convalesce meaning with strength and worth. I hope she can convalesce with strength and self worth.
