Which is correct? "zeroes" or "zeros"? or both? Some opinions are here:

Following the advice of englishonline.co.uk regarding UK frequencies gives:

  • zeroes: 8
  • zeros: 132

For the noun, the dominant use is "zeros". In American English or English overall, NGRAM shows that this shift is definitive after WWII. Miriam-Webster corresponding gives precedence to zeros. The shift in British English is less pronounced but still there. However, the verb form is zeroes (e.g., this zeroes out the total). Cerberus0 (talk) 20:45, 24 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
