Not an affix

[edit]

In its sense meaning "clothing," this term is not an affix, but a noun. 71.66.97.228 04:26, 4 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

It is a "bound form" according to Wenlin dictionary. Ddpy 04:54, 4 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

I see. Perhaps, then, there should be a Wikipedia-wide policy agreed upon regarding such Chinese characters, which cannot be used on their own. User:Stephen G. Brown, who is a linguist, has just told me that he has never heard of Mandarin nouns referred to as "bound form" so this particular dictionary you have (which does not appear online?) may be using a terminology different than that which is normally used for Mandarin syllables that cannot be used on their own. 71.66.97.228 05:02, 4 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
