The template {{IPAlink}} automatically wikilinks an IPA symbol to the respective sound article. IPAlink displays only the IPA letters.

The conversion table is not defined in this template, but inherited from {{IPAsym}}.

Usage[edit]

These template has two parameters: The first is the the symbol to show and to link to except if the second is present, in which case the first argument is shown while linking to the second. If the IPA symbol is not defined in the IPAsym table, then an error message is returned.

{{IPAlink|m}}m
{{IPAlink|ɡb}}ɡb
{{IPAlink|pʰɪk}}[[w:Template:IPAsym - Error: Entry "pʰɪk" not found|pʰɪk]]

The latter is normally more an example of accidental misuse than intentional use, or it could be a sign that a symbol is missing from the {{IPAsym}} table.
