Template:R:Mindat

From Wiktionary, the free dictionary

Mindat.org, Keswick, Va.: Hudson Institute of Mineralogy, 2000–2026.

Usage

This template may be used in "References" sections and on talk pages to cite the online mineral database Mindat.org. It can be used to create a link to the website.

Parameters

The template takes the following parameters:

  • |1= or |entry= – the name of the mineral. If this parameter is omitted, the template defaults to the name of the Wiktionary entry.
  • |2= or |id= – the mineral ID as indicated in the URL of the webpage to be linked to. For example, if the URL is https://www.mindat.org/min-1209.html, specify |id=1209. If this parameter is omitted, the ID will be looked up from a built-in database at Module:R:Mindat/data.
  • |glossary= – if citing the glossary section of the website, specify |glossary=1 or |glossary=yes.
  • |3=, |text=, or |passage= – a passage to be quoted.
  • |nodot= – by default, the template adds a full stop (period) at the end of the citation. To suppress this punctuation, use |nodot=1 or |nodot=yes.
