Usage[edit]
This template may be used in “References” sections and on talk pages to provide a citation to the New International Version of the Bible (2011). It can be used to create a link to an online version of the work at the BibleGateway website.
Parameters[edit]
The template takes the following parameters:
|1=or|book=– mandatory: the name of the book of the Bible quoted – see the table below for the full list.|2=or|chapter=– mandatory: the chapter of the book quoted in uppercase Roman numerals, following the work.|3=,|verse=, or|verses=– mandatory: the verse(s) of the chapter quoted in Arabic numerals, following the work. If quoting a range of verses, separate the verse numbers with an en dash, like this:|verses=10–11.|4=,|text=, or|passage=– a passage to be quoted.|nodot=– by default, the template adds a full stop (period) at the end of the citation. To suppress this punctuation, use|nodot=1or|nodot=yes.
