José Joaquim Machado de Oliveira (c. 1850) Vocabulario elementar da Lingua Geral Brasilica (overall work in Portuguese); republished as José de Alcântara Machado, editor, Revista do Arquivo Municipal, volume 25, number 3 (in Portuguese), São Paulo, 1936 July

Vocabulario elementar da Lingua Geral Brasilica is a wordlist compiled by José Joaquim Machado de Oliveira during his carrer as a serviceman and politician, between 1811 and 1867.

The author used of different sources besides his firsthand registers across Brazil and South America, making it a vocabulary for Língua Geral Amazônica (LGA), Língua Geral Paulista (LGP) and a Guaraní language of South Brazil. Machado de Oliveira died before being able to finish his work, so problems such as the lack of indication for the different languages and sources, cross-referencing of unwritten entries and inconsistent spelling are found. Nevertheless, it's one of the only known sources of LGP.

A more in-depth analysis of the vocabulary was made in 2013.[1]
