Usage

This template is used to quote from The Expulsion of the Déisi, an originally 8th-century tale preserved in later manuscript copies. There exists two recensions. Recension A is composed in Old Irish and survives in two copies, one in Bodleian Library, MS Rawlinson B 502 and the other in Bodleian Libary, MS Laud Misc. 610. Recension B is composed in Middle Irish and survives in three major fragments: one in the Lebor na hUidre (LU), a second in Dublin, Trinity College, MS 1316, and a third in Dublin, Trinity College, MS 1336.

The title of the tale is never consistent; each manuscript (except the Dublin, Trinity College, MS 1336 version, which lacks a title) invented its own title. The Rawlinson B 502 copy is called Tairired na nDessi, and the Laud 610 copy is called Torche na nDéssi, the LU version is called Tucait innarba na nDessi i Mumain, and the Trinity College Dublin MS 1316 version is called Tucaid chaechta Chormaic do Aengus & Aigead Cheallaig & Fotha indarbtha na nDeissi do Muig Breg.

For tracking purposes, when Recension B is quoted, the redirect {{RQ:mga:Deisi}} may be used.

Parameters

Indicates the edition quoted. For the Rawlinson B 502 copy, insert R, and for the Laud 610 copy, insert L, and for Recension B, insert B.

Indicates the location within an edition. For the Rawlinson B 502 version, this is the paragraph number. For the Laud 610 version, this is the line number.
