The spelling U:de:new spelling has been the prescribed spelling since one of the German spelling reforms.

This template is used on entries for spellings which have prescribed or optional spellings since a particular German spelling reform.
Parameters[edit]
|1=(required): date of the reform/amendment:1894,1902,1938,1955,1996,2004,2006,2011, or2017|2=(optional): the old form.|optional=y: set if spelling is optional|ss=yset to indicate that that the ⟨ss⟩ spellings were standard even before 1996 in Switzerland and Liechtenstein (for ⟨ss⟩ spellings which replaced ⟨ß⟩ spellings in 1996)|unadapted_borrowing=y(optional): the old form is an unadapted borrowing and therefore possibly still valid in a German-speaking country where the form's source language is co-official.
