Use this template to decline Egyptian nouns.

Basic usage is

  • {{egy-decl-noun|g=m|singular}} for regular masculine nouns.
  • {{egy-decl-noun|g=f|f=feminine root}} for regular feminine nouns.
  • {{egy-decl-noun|singular|dual|plural}} to specify the singular, dual, and plural forms individually (e.g. for irregular nouns or when you don’t know the gender).

Parameters

|1=
The singular. If this field is left empty but the gender |g= is specified as feminine, a form with final .t will be derived from the feminine root |f=.
|2=
The dual. If this field is left empty but the gender |g= is specified, a regular form will be derived from the singular |1= (for masculine nouns) or feminine root |f= (for feminine nouns).
|3=
The plural. If this field is left empty but the gender |g= is specified, a regular form will be derived from the singular |1= (for masculine nouns) or feminine root |f= (for feminine nouns).
|g=
The gender (m for masculine, f for feminine).
|f=
The feminine root, usually the singular form without the final .t. Needed for feminine nouns if parameters |1=, |2=, and |3= are not individually specified.
|type=
The stem type (consonant-stem, u-stem, a-stem, or i-stem) of the noun, if known. The stems are derived from Proto-Afroasiatic case endings: *-u for nominative, *-a for accusative, and *-i for genitive-possessive.
|hiero1=
The representation of the singular in hieroglyphs (enclose in <hiero></hiero> tags if using WikiHiero).
|hiero2=
The representation of the dual in hieroglyphs (enclose in <hiero></hiero> tags if using WikiHiero).
|hiero3=
The representation of the plural in hieroglyphs (enclose in <hiero></hiero> tags if using WikiHiero).
|voc1=
The reconstructed Old Egyptian vocalization of the singular. Use V to represent an unknown vowel.
|voc2=
The reconstructed Old Egyptian vocalization of the dual. Use V to represent an unknown vowel.
|voc3=
The reconstructed Old Egyptian vocalization of the plural. Use V to represent an unknown vowel.
