This template is used for the headword line of Icelandic adjectives.

Parameters

head=

Overrides the headword, if necessary. See {{head}}.

1=

The comparative form, if known. Use - if the adjective has no comparative form.

comp2=, comp3= etc.

Additional comparative forms, if any.

2=

The superlative form, if known. This is ignored if the first parameter is - (not comparable).

sup2=, sup3= etc.

Additional superlative forms, if any.

Examples

On góður:

{{is-adj|betri|bestur}}

The above code displays as follows:

góður (comparative betri, superlative bestur)

The first parameter can also be omitted if the comparative is not known, and then the comparative and superlative will simply not appear. On góður (“good”):

{{is-adj}}

The above code displays as follows:

góður

Non-comparable adjectives, as on ófleygur:

{{is-adj|-}}

The above code displays as follows:

ófleygur (not comparable)

For words which may have different inflections, the parameters comp2= and sup2= may be used for additional comparatives and superlatives respectively. On glöggur:

{{is-adj|gleggri|comp2=glöggari|gleggstur|sup2=glöggastur}}

will render as:

glöggur (comparative gleggri or glöggari, superlative gleggstur or glöggastur)
