Usage[edit]

This template is designed for words or locutions that were written with hyphens but that lost them with the Portuguese Language Orthographic Agreement of 1990, such as fim-de-semana or ultra-sônico:

Pre-reform spelling (until 1990) of fim de semana. Still used in countries where the agreement hasn't come into effect; may occur as a sporadic misspelling.
(Brazilian Portuguese) Pre-reform spelling (until 1990) of ultrassônico.

Parameter	Function	Default value (if left unspecified)
`1`	The spelling that superseded the word.	No default, only used when specified.
`dialect`	It accepts `Brazil` or `Portugal`, to indicate words that existed only in Brazilian Portuguese or European Portuguese dialects, respectively, before they were superseded.	No default, only used when specified.
