Mandarin[edit]

Pinyin syllable[edit]

tptu

 1. A transliteration of any of a number of Chinese characters properly represented as having one of four tones, {}ū{}, {}ú{}, {}ǔ{}, or {}ù{}.

Usage notes[edit]

 • Transcriptions of Mandarin into the Latin script often do not distinguish between the critical tonal differences employed in the Mandarin language, using words such as this one without indication of tone.
