Template:new fr verb past

Apart from having a really confusing name (what does it mean?) and being used on zero pages, you can just do {{past participle of|abc|lang=fr}}; see épuisé for an example. Mglovesfun 21:16, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

It's not used on any pages because it is meant to be substituted to assist in new page creation- enter {{subst|new fr verb past|foobar}} to see what I mean. Nadando 20:41, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

And my question about the title remains, I assume 'new' means that the template is new, there aren't too many 'new' past participles in French. We could debate (deprecated template usage) fichu I suppose, but that's it. Mglovesfun 01:40, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

You assume incorrectly, "new" means that the template is for creating new pages, which is why the template contains all of the necessary headings. As Nadando says it is for "substituting" into a page, {{subst:new fr verb past|foobar}} will create a new page that contains ""==French== ===Verb=== {{subst:PAGENAME}} {{past participle of|foobar|lang=fr}}"" So that you don't need to type anything. There are lots of templates with similar names, see Special:PrefixIndex/Template:new. These should be docmented somewhere... Conrad.Irwin 07:32, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
