SodhakSH, you would have to put the information within {{cite-book}} as Kutchkutch had originally done. -- dictātor·mundī 14:26, 1 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Inqilābī, why? I have converted many templates from {{cite-book}} to non-{{cite-book}}. 🔥ಶಬ್ದಶೋಧಕ🔥 14:48, 1 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@SodhakSH: But why? Nobody asked you to. {{cite-book}} should always be used; not for nothing do we have templets. -- dictātor·mundī 15:03, 1 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@SodhakSH, Inqilābī: ...and you're doing that, why? Also, can you please tell me the net result of your edit (I'm too tired to tell just by looking at the edit right now)? -- 𝓑𝓱𝓪𝓰𝓪𝓭𝓪𝓽𝓽𝓪(𝓽𝓪𝓵𝓴) 15:17, 1 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Inqilābī: I did that because of Template talk:R:CDIAL#Not linking??. I don't want any change to {{cite-book}} or {{cite-meta}} to affect these perfectly fine templates. 🔥ಶಬ್ದಶೋಧಕ🔥 15:25, 1 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@SodhakSH: Why go for such complexity‽ Writing out {{R:CDIAL|TERM|ENTRY NO.}} is enough. -- dictātor·mundī 16:08, 1 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Inqilābī, this is no complexity, this is simplicity. After these changes, for almost half of the entries, {{R:CDIAL|hw=1}} or {{R:CDIAL}} is enough. Many entries don't need an entry no. now. And I believe the entry number should be used only for searching in the dictionary, not for displaying and making the template untidy. 🔥ಶಬ್ದಶೋಧಕ🔥 04:13, 2 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Sgconlaw: Hi. Do you think what User:SodhakSH has been doing is necessary in light of issues surrounding {{cite-book}} or {{cite-meta}}? Thanks. ·~ dictátor·mundꟾ 08:44, 14 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Inqilābī: what issues are you referring to? Most of them should be resolved by now; let me know if they are any that haven't been. — SGconlaw (talk) 09:14, 14 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
Lemme ask @SodhakSH: are there still issues surrounding these templets? If not we can then restore the {{cite-book}} version of the templets… ·~ dictátor·mundꟾ 09:53, 14 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Inqilābī: There are no more issues, so I have restored it. Most of the templates I had converted have also been restored, after the problem was fixed. (P.S. I lost my account) --(SodhakSH) 2405:201:300E:287E:4BA:BA27:B0DB:E4E4 10:10, 14 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
