Template:RQ:Swift Gulliver

[edit]
Discussion moved from User talk:Sgconlaw.

Hi. In Template:RQ:Swift Gulliver, and many RQ templates, the author link has got those stupid square brackets, so you see [Jonathan Swift]. Why would anyone do that? --Huckerby980 (talk) 14:48, 11 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

If you look at the works, you will see they were anonymous. We only know it was written by Jonathan Swift through later research. The brackets indicate that the author of the work was not named in the work itself. — SGconlaw (talk) 15:45, 11 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

OK, updated the template to deal with them. — SGconlaw (talk) 16:01, 22 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Chapter names

[edit]

@Sgconlaw

Links to chapters:

I added chapter names at the sandbox (the template is protected). J3133 (talk) 02:32, 22 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

I added them to the template, but some are very long (and are likely to draw complaints) so I've shortened them using {{nb...}}. I also updated the documentation to mention the chapter links. — SGconlaw (talk) 16:01, 22 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

The Publisher to the Reader

[edit]

@Sgconlaw I have added pages of “The Publisher to the Reader” (only in part I) to the sandbox. J3133 (talk) 08:55, 13 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Sgconlaw The template needs to be updated (currently specifying a page from this section causes an expression error). J3133 (talk) 08:06, 15 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
@J3133: Done Done. I implemented it in a different way. — SGconlaw (talk) 18:00, 15 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Sgconlaw: “#if:” in “{{#if:{{{chapter|}}} [] ” should be “#ifeq:” (the author is repeated). J3133 (talk) 18:03, 15 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
@J3133: thanks, already spotted and fixed. — SGconlaw (talk) 18:13, 15 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
