Missing forms[edit]

This template doesn’t give a correct declension for nouns like tréad or béas. I’ll review this properly in the next couple of days and maybe do a fix. Think it just needs to check if gs. and npl. are the same and if so make gpl. = nsg.

tréad, m³ (gs. & npl. tréada, gpl. tréad)

béas, m³ (gs. & npl. béasa, gpl. béas)

I’ve made the changes to do a simple test - {{#ifeq:{{{3}}}|{{{4}}}||{{{2}}}|{{{4}}}}}}} - i.e. if gs. == pl. then gpl. = nsg. else gpl. = pl.. In case this logic proves faulty I've commented out the original lines which are before my additions. ☸ Moilleadóir 16:55, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Now the template doesn't work for forms like flaith, where the genitive singular is the same as a strong plural (gen. sg. an fhlatha, nom. pl. na flatha, gen. pl. na bhflatha). I've compensated for it at flaith by making the gen. sg. and plural form appear different (for the plural I wrote "flatha" rather than "flatha"), but there should be a better solution. Thanks for the heads-up Angr. I’ve based my declension templates at ga:wikt on the ones here and fixed this problem there but didn’t get around to fixing it here. These templates are a bit more complicated of course. I’ll have a look at it today if I can. ☸ Moilleadóir 23:23, 6 April 2008 (UTC) [reply]
OK, done. Note the new syntax - omit the plural for words like flaith or gamhain. Also added optional genitive plural for words like roinn (hmm, are there any other words like roinn?). ☸ Moilleadóir 02:23, 7 April 2008 (UTC) [reply]
