Use case for this template?

[edit]

Why does this exist separately from {{ja-from-kaminidan}}? Can / should this be merged into that?

If we are to keep these templates separate, I think they should at least cross-link to each other. This template also needs documentation. @Chuterix, could you do that?

Also, this template's output is slightly incorrect. While such verbs derive from Old Japanese, these are all attested in Middle Japanese (a.k.a. Classical Japanese), and thus should have entries under a regular ==Japanese== header. This template links only to the Old Japanese entry, which is a mistake. (I cannot recall for certain, but there might be cases of verbs coined in Middle Japanese and that demonstrate the Classical verb conjugation patterns, but that are not also attested in Old Japanese.) ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 16:25, 17 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Looking at how this template was used in the 落ちる entry, the additional-info parameter appears to be entirely superfluous -- the template just adds the contents to a new line after the other portions. May as well leave that out entirely, since it doesn't add any value to the template functionality, and including wikicode in template parameters can sometimes lead to strange errors. Granted, this isn't common, but it is very confusing when it happens. Best to avoid the possibility. ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 16:41, 17 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
