Etymology

Cognate with Turkish toğrul, Chagatai طغرل, طوغرل (toɣrïl). Some bird of prey, perhaps a falcon.

Also borrowed from various Turkic sources: Persian طغرل, Middle Armenian Տուղրիլ (Tuġril), Hungarian turul.
