Etymology

Possibly from atsooʼ (tongue) + dził (mountain). Another theory is that is comes from tsodizin (prayer) + dził (mountain).

One of the six sacred mountains of the Navajo. Tsoodził, associated with dootłʼizhii (turquoise) and the color blue, marks the southern boundary of Dinétah.
