I mainly edit Punjabi lexemes on Wikidata lexicographical data.
Points of contention with English Wiktionary:
- Collapsible declension tables which hide the oblique case forms while showing the direct case ones are not useful.
- Hindi and Urdu are the same language.
- Most of the Sanskritized neologisms in Hindi have been borrowed from Bengali, not Sanskrit, and bear semantic and morphological footprints of Bengali.
- The number of Perso-Arabic learned borrowings which have been added to Urdu since the creation of Pakistan is zero. The Perso-Arabic element of Hindustani predates the Hindi-Urdu controvery, and the reliance on this element in Pakistani Urdu is attributable to the fact that all of the vernacular languages of the region share vocabulary with this element.
- The treatment of Braj and Kannauji as separate languages in India represents the casting away of the native features of Hindi by speakers who use it solely as an auxiliary language.
- Punjabi does not have direct borrowings from Sanskrit. It only has indirect borrowings from Hindi/Urdu, a handful from Bengali, and some Persian loans which ultimately go back to Sanskrit.
- The conjugation tables for Punjabi verbs are incorrect and misleading.
- Pothohari is a dialect of Punjabi.
- Sauraseni and Pasaichi were sparsely attested literary dialects. The inherited lexicon of the Western Indo-Aryan languages can be linked to particular Prakrit etyma, but these are largely of an unspecified variety and are representations of an exclusively written form of Middle Indic separate from the vernacular languages.
- Tajik and Persian are the same language.
