    • Two similar vowels combine into their long form.
      गच्छति ईश्वरः (gacchati īśvaraḥ)गच्छतीश्वरः (gacchatīśvaraḥ)
    • Two dissimilar vowels turn into a semivowel and a simple vowel, provided the first vowel is not a or ā.
