I'm studying German, Arabic, Urdu, Hindi, and others. But I'm only able to articulately communicate in English, and I'm only able to understand English and German. My approach to study of languages seems to often involve delving into obtuse details about the structure and history, and not so much focus on actual communication. But also, other than German, I have only been learning any of these languages for a very short time. I hope I will be able to understand Standard Arabic at some point, but I am resigned to never being able to speak it without a extremely strong accent.
