I have no Greek ancestors that I am aware of but my best friend in high school was Greek. I learned many things from him, not the least of which was that if I learned some Greek and tried to speak to his mother, she would become very pleased and feed me. That's not the only reason I learned some Greek (I love languages) but it was a nice ancillary benefit. My username is an anglicized version of Καταλαβαίνω which means "I understand."
