Sati Houston
Senior Strategist (Grants), Wikimedia Foundation
"Sometimes what we commonly think is malevolence, is actually ignorance. And not ignorance born of hate, but ignorance born of ignorance." -- Jon Stewart
About me
I joined the Wikimedia movement back in early 2014, through a pro-bono consulting case done with the PEG program in Grantmaking, looking at historical program footprint and impact. I enjoyed working with the Foundation so much that I wanted to join in a wider capacity. While my professional background is in Strategy and Management consulting, my undergraduate and graduate degrees are in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research.
My work
As strategist, my role generally includes defining strategic direction for different grants programs, and building out the corresponding structures and plans to implement that strategy.
Disclaimer: I work for or provide services to the Wikimedia Foundation, and this is the account I try to use for edits or statements I make in that role. However, the Foundation does not vet all my activity, so edits, statements, or other contributions made by this account may not reflect the views of the Foundation.
