Adding translations

[edit]

Hello Superraptor123, I noticed that you recently started adding translations to entries like androgen insensitivity syndrome and bigender. I appreciate your work in expanding Wiktionary's translations for a number of terms, in particular because this is one of the best parts of Wiktionary. One thing that does worry me is the large variety of languages you are adding translations in. This is because editors are strongly discouraged from adding translations in languages they are not fluent in (see Wiktionary:Entry layout#Translations) and I find it difficult to believe that you understand the number languages you have added translations in. If you it is true that some of the translations you've added are in languages you don't understand, I would ask that you don't added such translations in the future. Thanks and take care. —The Editor's Apprentice (talk) 05:43, 1 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Understood; absolutely my fault, I will stop. Most of the translations I added I have independent sources for (such as: https://web.archive.org/web/20190123175918/https://oramrefugee.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Glossary-PDF.pdf, https://nonbinary.wiki/wiki/Glossary_of_Korean_gender_and_sex_terminology, etc.), a few come from other Wikipedia instances (such as those for androgen insensitivity syndrome). Much appreciated. I am glad to hear that you were relying on sources which weren't half-bad. Nonetheless, to keep things inline with the norms, I am gonna go ahead and remove the translations you added. Thanks for the friendly response and take care. —The Editor's Apprentice (talk) 18:45, 6 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
