Hi, and welcome. Interesting points you make here: [1]. I'd like to draw your attention to the fact that under "Preferences" there are "Email options", where setting an e-mail (no way obligatory of course!) would enable you to receive new password should you forget yours - as well as to receive e-mails from fellow editors.
