The orthography used for Kamassian on Wiktionary is based on that designed by A. Pivovarov in his Kamassian-Russian dictionary, taking into account Kamassian phonology as described by G. Klumpp (2016):

• No distinction is made between a central mid vowel and ӧ

• Aspiration is indicated by means of an <х> after the aspirated consonant.
• The fricatives β and ɣ are written as б and г respectively
• What Klumpp analyses as "palatalised" consonants are written with a following glide й.
• Word final -ʔC clusters are written following the allophone -ʔ (< *-t) or -ʔm (< *-p).
