Proper nouns[edit]

In response to DCDuring, I think that nobody has ever proposed to include a gazetteer or biographical dictionary. I think that even the current definition of Hitler as a precise person should be removed (but the link to Wikipedia should be kept, of course), although not everybody agrees (see Talk:Hitler). But toponyms belong to the linguistic domain, as much as first names or surnames. They are words. They have a pronunciation, one or several senses, derived words, they may have synonyms, anagrams, etc. They should be described as words, because they are words.
